I just read this article on SI.Com about whether or not the tour players this week should donate their purses to Katrina relief. My personal opinion is this: you don't know what personal situations these golfers have going on in their lives. They might need this week's check for some reason. They might have already donated a huge amount of money to Katrina relief. They might decide that they would rather donate money to some other worthy cause. Is anyone out there really going to say Katrina relief is more deserving than breast cancer research? And let's be cold and callous for a second: hurricane season is coming up and the levees probably won't hold this year either.
