Angel Cabrera outlasted Kenny Perry to win the Masters on the second playoff hole. I didn't start watching the last round until after Tiger and Phil had finished their rounds so I missed a few good plays by Cabrera but that first playoff hole was classic Cabrera. He is a masterful scrambler and usually tends to find a way to win from wherever his ball ends up. I love watching him play and I love how he can smile and have fun when he plays. You didn't see Chad Campbell smiling all that much out there today.

I think you make a great point when you talk about Chad Campbell not smiling at all. Quite an important ingredient for success I feel. I think Cabrera managed that to perfection.
There was something unusual about the Masters this time around. For the last few years the Masters committee faced growing criticism about the way the course was set up for tournament week. The birdies, like migratory birds, seemed to have vanished and the occasional ones that came along were few and far in between. That is not how the tournament was supposed to be and this year gave us ample proof of what had gone wrong.
The birdies were back in great numbers and it made for a great Sunday. A Sunday that almost saw Phil Mickelson script a miraculous come-from-behind win but it was not to be. His outward 30 was reminiscent of Arnold Palmer’s charge at the 1960 US Open except that lefty could not go the full distance.
A prime-time finish on the East coast, which was nothing less than a thrill-a-minute package backed by the roars of the thousands on course was tailor-made for the millions who stayed glued to their television sets. This is how a Major championship is supposed to be and that is why this Masters will stay in memory.
